Over the course of this semester I have participated in writing many journals, one big paper, peer reviews and multiple class writings. I think the class writings were some of my favorite because we didn't know what the topic was before we got to class and it wasn't like typical class writings. For this class we were asked to analyze things and express our feelings towards certain articles. I think that the writings helped our brains get going for the rest of the day and taught us how to read an article and write our thoughts about it in a timely manner.

CLASS WRITING

CLASS writing

This first class writing was one we did in September. We were asked to choose one of the four articles that my teacher posted and we had to summarize it and write some things that worked and didn't work. This was done as an introduction for us to annotated bibliographies. I heard of an annotated bibliography before this class, but I did not get exposed to it in detail before practicing it and learning what exactly it was in this class. I've included my article summary as well as the link to the article that I summarized for this class writing. Enjoy

The next class writing that I added was our first journal entry. We were asked about preconceived textual notions that people have. This was the beginning of class when I didn't really understand things beyond the surface. I remember a classmate wrote about graffiti on trains and I think this was a great example of a piece of writing that we oftentimes complain about and look at as a bad thing, but we don't realize how many people this piece of writing or drawing affects. Trains travel all around the world, so something that you drew on a train in Charlotte could end up being seen by more people than you even know. The topic I chose was one that could be preconceived, but it wasn't really the type of response that the question was trying to generate, and I realize that now that we are at the end of the semester and I am a better writer.
