Metacognition on Writing and the Course
UWRT 1102 is a course designed to enhance writing skills and create a deeper understanding of the writing process. There are a lot of different things you must consider when writing. I've learned more this semester than what could possibly fit onto this website page, but I am going to include my midterm reflection, and my final reflection addendum on my experience in the course and the writing process. Reflections are important because they are used to refresh your mind on the material you have learned and they are used as a tool to discover what is essential. They also promote personal insight and growth by taking thinking to a more complex level.
Midterm Reflection
In the middle of the semester we were asked to write a Midterm Reflection after reviewing all the assignments that we have completed so far. We had to think about knowledge we have gained, and new things we have discovered. I learned new things about the writing process itself, but I have also learned about myself as a writer.
There are various skills that can be gained by practicing. If you are continuously learning new things about the writing process and applying them, you can improve your work. Peer review is also a major key. Attached below is my Midterm Reflection, as well as a button that will take you to the actual document. I hope that you are able to put yourself in my shoes and gain the sense of improvement and knowledge that I gained already at this point in the semester.
